Baseball icon’s rights will now be represented across media and advertising campaigns.

The Estate of Yogi Berra and Steiner Sports have appointed licensing agency Beanstalk to represent the late baseball player for advertising, media campaigns and long-term brand associations.

“Leveraging Beanstalk’s expertise in media and advertising complements our work and adds significant value to the Yogi Berra brand,” says Ed Schauder, executive vice president, licensing and general counsel, Steiner Sports.

Berra played Major League Baseball for 19 seasons and managed teams such as the New York Yankees, New York Mets and Houston Astros. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.

“Yogi Berra’s success as a baseball superstar embodied the American dream,” says Allison Ames, president and chief executive officer, Beanstalk. “He is a beloved national treasure and his witty phrases are so well known, they’ve become part of the vernacular.”

Steiner Sports currently holds the exclusive licensing rights to Berra’s name and likeness, which it acquired in May.
