Major League Soccer and Adidas have signed a new eight-year sponsorship deal, which will begin with the 2011 season. The teaming sees Adidas as the official athletic sponsor and licensed product supplier for the league.

The deal also gives Adidas advertising rights and retail marketing support, as well as an initiative to invest more in youth development and reserve programs secured to all MLS franchises.

The new partnership, reportedly worth more than $200 million, replaces the 10-year, $150 million contract, which began with the 2005 season.
