LeSportsac to Launch ‘Sesame Street’ Collections

LeSportsac and Sesame Workshop are teaming up for a new “Seasame Street” collaboration.

The colorful bags from LeSportsac x “Sesame Street” includes five collections, offering a range of silhouettes and styles for every occasion.

The Sesame Neighbors collection lets the smiling faces of favorite “Sesame Street” characters pop against a bold navy background. On the Sesame Park print, some characters run and play while others relax and enjoy the day. The Sherpa collection sports furry versions of Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and Elmo on several functional styles – with appliqué faces and matching grosgrain details representing each character. The Friends on the Block print celebrates the joy of community on a dual-sided Easy Magazine Tote. Finally, pairings of “Sesame Street” Friends – from Bert and Ernie to Cookie Monster and Oscar – star on cosmetic bags for a way to pack smaller essentials.

The LeSportsac x “Sesame Street” collection will be available in-store and online at LeSportsac.com beginning winter 2020.

Bear Walker, Pokémon Create Second Skateboard Collection

The Pokémon Company International announced that its official ecommerce arm, Pokémon Center, has once again teamed up with skateboard industry craftsman Bear Walker for a premium skateboard collection.

The Pokémon Company is exhibiting at Festival of Licensing, a month-long large-scale digital gathering that unites the global licensing industry to connect, learn, strike deals and do business on an international stage. The event takes place Oct. 6-29. Register for free now!

Bear Walker and The Pokémon Center previously released series one of the line earlier this year, marking the first capsule collection of its kind for PokemonCenter.com in the U.S. as well as the first premium skateboard series created for fans. Series one featured the classic favorites Pikachu, Charizard, Gengar, Gyarados and Mewtwo. The line sold out within 50 hours of the collection’s launch with 150 boards available in each design.

Series two is available now on PokemonCenter.com and features Toxtricity, Rayquaza, Umbreon, Togepi and Mew.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Charity Bobblehead Unveiled

Ruth Bader Ginsburg has received own limited-edition bobblehead with part of the profits going towards the American Civil Liberties Union. 

Kollectico unveiled the Limited Edition bobblehead Tuesday morning. The bobbleheads are 7” tall with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in her robe of justice, holding a gavel and the U.S. Constitution.

The background banner of the collectible highlights several legacy cases such as U.S. v. VirginiaLedbetter v. Goodyear and Bush v. Gore. Each bobblehead is individually numbered out of 1,993, which is the year President Bill Clinton nominated Ginsburg to the Supreme Court. 

"The bobblehead is meant to honor the second woman to sit on the highest bench for being a voice of reason for the citizens of the United States of America," says Andrew S. Hazen, founder and chief executive officer, Kollectico.

The Sandbox Appoints VP of Licensing & Brand Partnerships

The Sandbox has announced the appointment of Bertrand Levy, former global vice president, brand partnerships, Universal Music.

The Sandbox will leverage Levy’s established network and expertise to unlock value through partnerships with major entertainment brands, celebrities and artists to build collaborations within The Sandbox gaming virtual world.

Wild Apple, Katrina Pete Art Deal Blooms

Wild Apple has announced a new collection with watercolor artist Katrina Pete which will launch this October.

The collection will highlight Pete’s signature style which includes incorporating natural elements and light into her paintings. Her debut Wild Apple collections are created with a “loose technique” that allows the paint to flow and bloom and fade into other colors on the page. 

“I’m intrigued by the change in light each season, and the way it brings about entirely new color palettes throughout the year,” says Pete.

Pete worked in the medical field prior to becoming a full-time artist and pursuing her lifelong passion for painting. Today, she works as a full-time artist from her Minnesota studio and describes her artwork as a collection of inspired mementoes from her garden, woodland walks and outdoor adventures with her family. 

“We are very happy to have signed Katrina Pete,” says John Chester, co-owner, Wild Apple. “Her watercolors are a beautiful addition to our wall decor and licensing collections. We are excited to bring her artwork to customers throughout North America and around the world.”

Toonz Medai Group Unleashes ‘Chacha Chaudhary’ Merch

Toonz Media Group, the exclusive merchandising and distribution license holders of the “Chacha Chaudhary” animated series, has teamed up with Planet Superheroes to bring premium “Chacha” branded products to fans across the country.

With this new tie-up, Toonz plans to bring India’s favorite superhero closer to the fanbase. Planet Superheroes is among the top ten e-commerce destinations for pop culture and comic brands. Chacha Chaudhary merchandising products launched by PSH will be available on all PSH stores across India as well as on leading online stores. Toonz Media Group’s Licensing & Merchandising partner Brand Monk Licensing closed the deal with Planet Superheroes for Toonz.

Moonbug, Virgin Media Partner for U.K. Expansion

Moonbug Entertainment is partnering with Virgin Media to expand its children's programming in the U.K.

Ten new shows will air on Virgin Media’s TV platform starting in mid-October. The programs set to air include “Blippi,” “Little Baby Bum,” “Playtime with Twinkle,” “Go Buster,” “Toddler Fun Learning,” “Digley and Dazey,” “Dr Poppy,” “Supa Strikas,” “My Magic Pet Morphle” and “Gecko’s Garage.”

“We’re constantly looking for ways to expand our kids offer and we’re very pleased to add Moonbug’s impressive range of popular children’s characters for our customers,” 

says David Bouchier, chief digital entertainment officer, Virgin Media. “Not only will families gain access to more than ten new franchises, but they’ll have exclusive access to new episodes of Blippi before anyone else, from Nov. 2.”

GavinHoss Group to Rep ‘Trailer Park Boys’

GavinHoss Group has been named the licensing agent for the “Trailer Park Boys” 20th anniversary consumer products campaign.

The agency was chosen by TPB Production Limited, the company that owns and manages all intellectual property rights associated with “Trailer Park Boys,” to create a line covering a broad range of products, retail partnerships and fan events based on the Netflix show.

“’Trailer Park Boys’ is a Canadian institution with a huge fan base hungry for a piece of the booze-fueled misadventures of three long-time friends,” says Jessica Gavin, partner and co-founder, GavinHoss. “We’re very excited to be working with ‘the boys’ on the 20th anniversary initiative that will put series-themed products in viewers’ hands to enjoy away from the screen.”

GavinHoss is planning to build a robust consumer products program geared to the series’ adult demographic that includes toys and games, novelty, apparel, food and beverage, pet supplies and health and beauty care.
