Yankee Publishing has appointed Seltzer Licensing Group to build a licensing program for its periodical The Old Farmer’s Almanac.
Seltzer plans to extend the brand into weather-related products, as well as the food and beverage category.
“We’re thrilled to work with this strong classic brand and are excited to contribute to their continued success through licensing into new categories,” says Stu Seltzer, president, Seltzer Licensing Group.
Founded in 1792, The Old Farmer’s Almanac is North America’s oldest continuously published periodical. Best known for its 80 percent accurate weather forecasts, the Almanac is also read for its articles on gardening, home, food and history, as well as for its reference information, including tide tables and astronomical data.
“We recognize the potential of The Old Farmer’s Almanac in the world of licensing and through our previous experiences understand how to work with and support licensees,” says Jamie Trowbridge, president, Yankee Publishing. “Our association with Seltzer will allow us to explore possibilities, build partnerships and, ultimately, reach new audiences.”
