The app integration follows the launch of a same-day delivery shopping site on Target.com earlier this year. Two years ago, Target acquired Shipt and its technology for $550 million. Developments between the two were planned to launch as an online site in 2018 for the holiday season, and app developments were announced and launched in late November.

The Shipt app will still exist separate from Target, but this extension will allow same-day delivery to be available in nearly 250 markets across 48 states. Shoppers can choose from 65,000 different items to be delivered to their doors, much like Amazon Prime Now.
No membership is needed for this same-day delivery service. Instead, a $9.99 delivery fee per same-day order will be instilled on purchases.
