Stein Mart will open 10 new stores this year, marking the company's largest store expansion since 2007.
The expansion will begin with new locations in the Miami, Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas areas this spring. The Miami and Washington, D.C. stores will open in former Loehmann's locations, after the 93-year-old department store announced it was closing its doors earlier this year.
The retailer closed two stores earlier this year in Fernandina Beach, Fla. and Brentwood, Tenn., but with the new additions Stein Mart stores in the U.S. total more than 270.
The announcement of the expansion follows the company's fiscal 2013 same-stores sale growth of 3.7 percent.
