Walmart has joined forces with Rakuten Kobo to offer a new digital book catalog online and in-stores.
Walmart eBooks by Rakuten Kobo will give readers access to a digital book solution that complements Walmart’s existing book offerings as well as a new category previously unavailable at the retailer.
Highlights include:
Access to Kobo's library of more than six million books including New York Times bestsellers, indie books and children's titles;
A chance to subscribe to audiobook services for $9.99 per month plus one free title each month;
The opportunity to buy digital book cards in more than 3,500 Walmart stores that offer over 40 titles including The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil deGrasse-Tyson and Capital Gaines by Chip Gaines;
A chance to buy Kobo readers in-store and online, beginning today at Walmart.com.
Kobo Aura readers will become available in over 2,000 stores by the end of the week. launched today as well , and on Kobo eReaders.
