PGA Superstore Plans Major Expansion

Three new stores will open in Orlando, Fla., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Southlake, Texas, this year. PGA TOUR Superstore currently has 19 retail stores across the U.S. and plans to have up to 50 locations by 2018.

Each store has custom-fitting simulators and practice bays and also features certified golf pros, personalized golf lessons, repair services and a range of golf equipment and apparel. The stores are owned and operated by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, which is owned by retired Home Depot founder Arthur M. Blank.

"Despite a flat retail landscape in the golf industry, we have growth plans that prove experiential retail is alive and well," says Dick Sullivan, president and chief executive officer, PGA Tour Superstore. "What's different about PGA Tour Superstore is we purposely design our stores with what the golfers want from an experience

and product assortment point of view. When it snows in Chicago or New York, golfers can come into our stores, work on their game and see their ball flight on our launch monitors. And they can putt on our 2,000 square-foot putting greens.”
