As part of its new American Dreams initiative, the direct-to-consumer live content retailer HSN has partnered with five prominent entrepreneurs to find new products.

These five entrepreneurs will use their respective television, radio, online platforms, conference and trade show platforms to bring new products to the retailer, while at the same time raising awareness for the entrepreneurs behind them.

Daymond John will be on the look out through his ABC show "Shark Tank"; Marc Portney through the Science Channel series "All-American Makers"; Bob Circosta through HSN's revamped "American Dreams Ideas Portal," convention searches and seminars; Akos Jankura through the "My Cool Inventions" radio talent search; and Gregg Smith through Edison Nation, an open innovation community and marketplace for independent inventor.

The American Dreams initiative kicked off on HSN with a mini-series event on Aug. 9 that featured inspiring stories of some of HSN's most successful brand partners. Additionally, HSN's "The Monday Night Show with Adam Freeman" will devote its first hour to showcasing three or more entrepreneurs with their new product, alongside one of the five HSN partners who discovered them.

HSN has also created a landing page and portal for the American Dreams initiative where the public can submit and share ideas for products and other initiatives.

"There's nothing more exciting than meeting entrepreneurs, hearing their ideas, feeling their passion and helping them make their dreams come true," says Bill Brand, president, HSN. "As the original electronic retailer we have always championed entrepreneurs, and this new initiative will further solidify our position as a destination to discover remarkable products and brands."
