The NPD Group has launched its Toys Retail Tracking Service in Brazil, a survey of online and brick-and-mortar sales in the toy category.

The new service is available via subscription, aligns with NPD’s point of sale data for the 12 other countries it tracks and offers insight as detailed as the item/ model level in 11 super-categories and more than 90 toy subcategories.

“The marketplace is evolving quickly, making a complete picture of the retail landscape more critical than ever before,” says José P. Guedes, senior vice president, The NPD Group. “With the addition of NPD’s Retail Tracking Service in Brazil, brands, licensors and retailers will now be able to identify marketplace growth opportunities, and better understand sales trends to better inform decisions around product development and marketing.”

According to the NPD, the Brazilian toy market grew 6 percent in 2017, an increase from $3.46 billion reais to $3.67 billion reais, making it the seventh largest, and one of the fastest growing global market tracked by the service.

The new tracker will include trend data from January 2016 to track performance.
