Adobe predicts that 2013 will be one of the most exciting growth years in online Christmas shopping in its Adobe Digital Index 2013 Online Shopping Forecast.
2013 will be the year of mobile for Europe with a 68 percent year-over-year increase from last year expected in mobile online sales, according to the report. In fact, Europe will meet or surpass U.S. mobile holiday sales by 2014 if the growth continues.
Globally the biggest online shopping days are generally expected to occur in earlier December, with the notable exception of France, where Adobe expects to see sales peak on Jan. 8 during the winter sales season.
Cyber Monday (Dec. 2) will be the high point for online sales in the U.S. while the highest grossing online shopping day in Europe is forecast to be Dec. 9, where daily sales are expected to be 2.74 times the 2013 average daily online sales.
