

Stockton succeeds Robert A. Eckert, who is retiring as director and chairman of the board at the end of this year.
Stockton will continue to hold the position of chief executive officer. He joined Mattel in November 2000 as executive vice president of business planning and development. Over the next 12 years Stockton held positions of increasing responsibility, eventually taking on the role of chief operating officer in 2011 where he managed the day-to-day operations of the company.
