Entertainment One has acquired the rights to develop a TV series for the Japanese manga, “Black Jack,” from Osamu Tezuka, the "godfather of anime.”

Tezuka’s story follows a detective/doctor who is employed by a government special-ops team that fights terrorist threats in the U.S.

The manga has sold more than 50 million copies in Japan, and has been published and translated in dozens of countries around the world.
