In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Walker Books is planning a raft of new product featuring the work of book illustrator Helen Oxenbury.

Interior designer Mary Gannon has signed on to produce a range of children’s furniture featuring the cast of characters from Lewis Carroll’s classic tale. The collection will include three differently decorated Alice-themed wardrobes, a storage unit, a writing table, a Mad Hatter hat storage box, a small bookshelf, a range of home textiles including cushions, bags and wallpaper, and an Alice-themed chair, all of which will be available in January 2015.

Flame Tree Publishing is developing an Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland calendar based on Oxenbury’s artwork for 2016, that will be available in fall 2015. (Flame Tree is also a licensee for We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, also illustrated by Oxenbury.)

“From Disney to Johnny Depp, Alice in Wonderland has been interpreted on screen and in print in many different ways over the years,” says Anna Hewitt, head of licensing, Walker Books. “Helen Oxenbury’s illustrations bring this classic story to life in a whole new way and she presents a version of Alice that is original, beautiful and refreshingly contemporary. This is just the beginning of our plans for Alice and we are delighted to have such fantastic partners on board already.”
