Viacom International Media Networks has launched a mobile subscription service app for a digital library of kids’ books that feature Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon characters.

The “Bookids by Nickelodeon” app is available in France on Android and iOS, as well as an add-on through VIMN’s Pay-TV partners. It offers nearly 200 ebooks published by Nickelodeon and will be updated with an average of 10 new books every month. Titles available will be based on popular Nick characters including SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Ninja Turtles, The Loud House, Dora The Explorer, Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

“We’re very excited to announce the launch of our first mobile ebook service of Nickelodeon content in France,’ says Raffaele Annecchino, president and managing director, Southern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa, VIMN, and president of digital mobile strategy, VIMN, “‘Bookids by Nickelodeon’ is an innovative digital library that will give kids and families even more ways to interact with our content, now available via our ebook app on all their mobile devices.’

The deal comes on the heels of Viacom’s recent announcement of acquiring the Garfield property for Nickelodeon.
