Asmodee Entertainment has announced that Aconyte, the new fiction imprint of global games group Asmodee, will be the North American publisher of “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Geirmund’s Saga,” the tie-in novel to the “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” game coming this November from Ubisoft.

Both Asmodee Entertainment and Ubisoft are exhibiting at Festival of Licensing, the month-long virtual celebration of the global licensing industry, which takes place online Oct. 6-29. Endemol Shine will be exhibiting during Americas week, Oct. 20-22. It’s free to register and attend via www.festivaloflicensing.com.

The latest instalment of the “Assassin’s Creed” game line brings the focus to the Viking era. The novel tells an original story set in the world of the game. Players can discover the tale of Geirmund Hel-Hide, a man determined to prove his worth as a Viking and a warrior. A perilous journey across the sea brings him into contact with a being out of myth and grants him a mysterious ring that promises both great power and bitter betrayal.

As Geirmund rises in the ranks of King Guthrum’s army, he will have to use all his cunning to face the many dangers of a land ravaged by war. Fighting alongside his band of loyal warriors, his path will soon lead him into a conflict as old as the Gods themselves. Matthew J. Kirby will write the novel.

The novel will be published by Aconyte in the U.S. and Canada as an ebook on Nov. 19, 2020, and as a trade paperback on March 2, 2021. Sales and distribution will be handled by Simon & Schuster.
