NORTH AMERICA–Time Inc. has launched a new division that will extend the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit brand through licensing and brand extensions, and is looking for an executive to head the endeavor.

Called Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Enterprises, the new division will secure licensing agreements across a variety of categories and build new businesses in partnership with SI Swimsuit models. The division will also aim to work to help enhance the careers of emerging SI Swimsuit modeling talent.

As part of its launch, the division has signed on 15 new model search participants, who were selected from the brand’s first-ever open casting call competition earlier this year.

Time is currently searching for a general manager to head the new division. This executive will also be responsible for the SI Swimsuit apparel and swim collections launching early next year with Raj Swim. The collaboration with Raj Swim was announced in June.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, a pop culture powerhouse, is a phenomenal brand for us to extend into new businesses,” says Chris Stone, senior vice president, editorial director, Sports Illustrated Group. “By tapping into SI Swimsuit's enormous reach, unparalleled brand loyalty and talented models, we have extraordinary potential to develop new licensing and business opportunities that span a variety of categories. We look forward to partnering with our models and are very excited by the high level of interest we've already received.”
