Comic book publisher IDW Publishing has partnered with the global design community Threadless to feature dedicated Artist Shops for the IDW fan favorites Locke & Key, Zombies vs. Robots and The Rocketeer.

The deal was brokered by Idea Patch.

The Threadless community–comprised of hundreds of thousands of artists–will have an opportunity to submit their designs for limited edition, one-of-a-kind apparel and accessories inspired by the comic series. Additionally, Locke & Key, Zombies vs. Robots and The Rocketeer Artist Shops will feature designs directly from the comics as well as a curated a collection of the most popular graphics from IDW’s catalog of award-winning titles.

The shops will launch on Threadless.com toward the end of the year and in specialty retail accounts nationwide in 2016.

IDW’s design challenges and Artist Shops will be supported by extensive digital and social media marketing.

“We are excited to partner with Threadless to bring consumer products based on some of IDW Publishing’s best-known independent titles to the digital marketplace and beyond,” says Jeff Webber, vice president of digital and licensing, IDW Publishing. “IDW has been a pioneer of digital comics, it’s a natural progression for us to move licensed goods in that same direction. Equally, we promote creativity and feel Threadless is a hub of fantastic artists and art enthusiasts.”
