Ubisoft has inked a new deal with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing to bring the adventures of the Rabbids, based on the video game franchise and Nickelodeon TV show “Rabbids Invasion,” to a full line of books.

The Rabbids’ wacky antics will be captured in hardcover, paperback and e-books that are set to hit shelves in in the U.S. and Canada this summer from the Simon Spotlight.

“Simon & Schuster is thrilled to add the Rabbids to our publishing portfolio,” says Valerie Garfield, vice president, publisher, novelty and licensed publishing, Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing. “Their hilarious antics will truly appeal to the 6-10 audience, and beyond, who appreciates this silly humor. They are a fresh and decidedly unique voice in licensed publishing.”

Specific titles will include chapter books, beginning reader books, joke books and novelty books.

“Working with a top children’s book publisher like Simon & Schuster Publishing expands the Rabbids brand even further,” says Tony Key, senior vice preside, sales and marketing, Ubisoft. “We’re confident the Rabbids will continue to delight fans with each new brand extension, and the success we’ve had with the video games and TV show will be replicated with the books.”
