Portico is planning to bring classic images from the Life photographic library to a new line of gifting products and stationery for the U.K. market.

The deal was negotiated by Bulldog Licensing.

Life magazine, Life.com and the Life photo library have an extensive stock of 10 million images available for licensing.

Portico's range will include diaries, address books, scrapbooks, biscuit tins, playing cards, pens and storage boxes.

“We are very excited by this new deal as it gives us access to some of the world’s most iconic imagery,” says Simon Harrison, managing director, Portico. “Our designers are making full use of this opportunity, and the new range is set to be absolutely stunning.”

Other licensing partners for Life include VMC for accessories, Benchmark for bags, Pyramid for calendars and wall art, The Art Group for greeting cards and postcards and Poeticgem for high-end apparel.

“Life is a truly timeless brand that can literally stop people in their tracks, such is the power of the imagery,” says Vicky Hill, licensing executive, Bulldog Licensing. “Portico is joining a host of other partners who are benefitting from the quality of this property, and I’m sure the products will make a big impact when they hit retail.”
