Following the departure of former chief executive officer Scott Flanders, Playboy Enterprises has appointed Ben Kohn to the position of interim chief executive officer.

In his new position, Kohn will oversee the operations at Playboy while the company seeks a new chief executive officer. Kohn will also continue his role as managing partner at Rizvi Traverse, the private equity firm that holds a majority stake in the company.

Flanders, who has been named chief executive officer of eHealth, the country’s first private health insurance exchange, will remain on Playboy’s board of directors and will retain his ownership interest in the company.

“The work we have done over the past seven years at Playboy has been incredibly fulfilling and Ben has been a key partner to me and my executive team every step of the way,” says Flanders. “I know that I leave the company in great hands and am grateful for the support of the team at Playboy as I embrace this new challenge in my career.”
