Penguin and Mind Candy have teamed up for a new global publishing partnership that will see the two companies work together to build original, cross-platform brands.

Penguin is already the global publisher for Mind Candy’s Moshi Monsters brand. The new extension of that partnership makes Penguin the exclusive global publisher for any new properties developed by Mind Candy over the next three years.

At the same time, Eric Huang, currently the director of new business and IP acquisitions at Penguin Children's, will be leaving Penguin to join Mind Candy as director of development.

"Our relationship with Mind Candy has been an enormous success, and this new partnership extends and deepens the way we work together,” says Tom Weldon, chief executive officer, Penguin. “One of Penguin's key strategic themes is building tomorrow's brands today, and Mind Candy is at the forefront of doing just that. Eric has been instrumental in helping Penguin become a new kind of publisher, and we wish him well in his new position, where we will continue to collaborate on brilliant ideas and great storytelling."

Penguin Children's acquisitions manager, Rich Haines, and publisher of licensing, Juliet Matthews, will work with Huang in his new role to help develop the new properties.
