One Quarter of Kids Sales Are Made Up of These
According to a new study by The NPD Group, licensed books make up 26 percent of juvenile sales in the U.S.
According to the study, growing publishing licenses for titles such as A Wrinkle in Time, Coco and Agatha Christie are coupled with an overall impact in the licensed publishing sector. The NPD Group found that licensed books, specifically, made up about 12 percent of industry sales.
This year’s study also dug into regional trends in the industry. The NPD found that National Geographic was the top-performing license in the Pacific region, Even After High was a leader in the Mountain region and Major League Baseball (MLB) was a leader in New England.
