The deal will see VIP extend Lionni’s properties into toys, baby and kid products, apparel, room décor and strollers.

Later, the group will look for opportunities in homeware and tabletop products, maternity wear, keepsakes, collectible gifts and more. Lionni began writing children's books in 1959 and is best known for his bold colors and nature-inspired collages.

Popular titles include It’s Mine, Frederick and Pezzettino. Random House/ Bertelsmann is Lionni’s publishing partner.
