JJ&C is planning a new range of National Geographic-branded luggage in a worldwide deal brokered by IMG Licensing.

JJ&C, the new licensee for National Geographic-branded luggage in Europe, Asia, Africa and South and Central America, will produce items catering to both casual and business travelers and featuring images from the magazine.

The line will feature seven new models, including backpacks and trolley suitcases, and will hit retail this month both in stores and online.

“For more than 125 years, National Geographic has been inspiring people to explore the world, and now JJ&C’s great designs and superb functionality will give them the luggage needed to do just that,” says Alison Middleton, senior vice president, brand licensing, international, National Geographic.

IMG signed on as the magazine’s agent for luggage and travel bags in 2013 and has since worked to build partnerships with international licensees to expand the brand outside of North America.

Net proceeds from the sale of NatGeo luggage products will support exploration, conservation, research and education programs.

“We are very pleased that the National Geographic luggage range is expanding,” says Fabrice Faurie, vice president, IMG Licensing. “It is a measure of the popularity of the brand that these new products will soon be available to the consumer. The collection ties in successfully with National Geographic’s dedication to exploration as well as providing excellent solutions for the business traveler.”
