Classic Eric Carle book characters ready for their U.S. stage debut.

The Eric Carle Studio and its licensing agency, The Joester Loria Group, are bringing the stage show "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show and Other Timeless Stories" to the U.S.

The 60-minute "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show" features 75 puppets and adapts four of Carle’s books: The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse, The Very Lonely Firefly and, of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Created by Rockefeller Productions, the show has toured extensively throughout Australia to sold-out crowds and rave reviews.

Now "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show" will make its U.S. debut at New York City's 47th Street Theatre with previews beginning Jan. 30 and the official run planned for Feb. 7 to March 27.

"I hope the performances will be enjoyed by many and that the colorful characters will bring comfort and joy to all who see the stories that have been so carefully produced," says Carle. "It is uplifting to see such beautiful and cheerful works inspired by my characters. I hope my books–and this show–will inspire you and your imagination."
