Dynamite has partnered with Surge Licensing and Homieshop for a new deal that will create the first-ever officially licensed Homies publications.

The Homies began in 1978 as a comic strip by David Gonzalez that ran in Lowrider Magazine. Merchandising for the brand began in 1994 at Hot Topic, and a subsequent vending machine toy license was brokered that yielding more than 150 million figurines sold worldwide.

Now, Homies will get a retrospective hardcover art book (History of the Homies), as well as the right for Dynamite to create original comics, graphic novels and reprint existing comic materials.
