Fashion magazine expands into the food category with new café.

Hearst Magazines International has partnered with Marka PJSC to launch the world’s first Harper’s Bazaar Café in Dubai’s design district.

IMG, Hearst’s licensing agent, brokered the deal.

The new café was designed with Dubai’s foodies and socialites in mind, as well as the city’s art, design and fashion communities, and will aim to bring Harper Bazaar’s point-of-view to life through cuisine, culture and style.

Harper’s Bazaar launched in Dubai in 2007, and was immediately embraced by fashion-forward readers in the UAE, who love the expertly curated, graphic style and visual energy that defines the brand around the world,” says Kim St. Clair Bodden, senior vice president and editorial director, Hearst Magazines International. “The café brings that vision to life, in a chic environment that highlights the ultimate luxury: extraordinary service.”

The café marks the first time the brand has ventured into the food and beverage category.

Additionally, a number of activities are planned for the café that will encourage cultural and social interaction.

“We are proud to have launched the world’s first Harper’s Bazaar Café in Dubai Design District and look forward to the d3 location serving as a launch pad for future growth and expansion of this exciting concept in the MENA region,” says Hesham Al Mekkawi, managing director, Marka Hospitality.

The Harper Bazaar Café is open now.
