Goosebumps Gears Up for Halloween

Scholastic is helping Goosebumps fans in the U.S. get in the spooking spirit for Halloween with a number of events and new content.

Goosebumps author R.L. Stine will host his third Scholastic social media takeover on Oct. 30. From 2-3:30 p.m Stine will be "trick or tweeting" with fans through social media in a live chat where he will share jokes, trivia, videos and images, plus answer questions from participants, who will also have the chance to win collectible Goosebumps prizes.

Fans from coast-to-coast can join the conversation by using #31DaysofGoosebumps to post on the Scholastic accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Instagram.

Stine will also treat kids and families to a Halloween-themed afternoon in New York City, at a reading and book signing at The Scholastic Store Oct. 18.

12 Screams of Christmas

, a special edition book and the latest title in the Goosebumps: Most Wanted series will also be available.

Scholastic has also unleashed a revamped Goosebumps website where fans

can play games and activities such as “Monster Blood” and “Which Monster Are You?,” check out the author events calendar and news spotlight and discuss all things Goosebumps in a community forum.

The first-ever

Goosebumps

feature film, starring Jack Black, from Sony Pictures Entertainment will hit theaters in August 2015.

“Through our new website, a movie coming in summer 2015, new books and live events, we continue to excite and engage our young fan base as well as our loyal millennial Goosebumps fans,” says Deborah A. Forte, president, Scholastic Media.
