Airport retailer Paradies has signed an exclusive license agreement to open and operate the first-ever Forbes newsstands in airports in North America.

The deal was brokered by Forbes’ licensing agency LMCA.

The first of four stores is now open at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport’s McNamara Terminal, with additional stores in Washington Reagan and Washington Dulles slated to open this month.

“For years, Forbes has enjoyed a strong connection with travelers thanks to the widespread availability of the magazine, and we’re excited to team up with leading airport concessionaire Paradies to further reach our customer base,” says Nina LaFrance, senior vice president, consumer marketing and business development, Forbes Media. “Today, travelers are looking for news and information that will improve their overall trip experience, and the most trusted brands stand out. The Forbes Travel Stores will provide a convenient, one-stop-shop.”

The news and technology-focused shops will feature in-store televisions airing programs from the Forbes video network, technology stations showcasing Forbes.com ongoing promotions throughout the year to highlight the magazine’s most anticipated issues.

Each Forbes newsstand will also offer a selection of local, national and international newspapers, magazines and books, as well as a wide variety of traveler needs including electronics, health and beauty accessories, luggage, local and regional apparel, snacks and beverages and convenience items.
