WTG Enterprises has appointed Firefly Brand Management as the licensing agent for The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.

The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers by artist Gilbert Shelton is a global comic book series about a fictional trio of counter-culture characters. The cult comic book is being brought to the small screen by Hollywood industry executives Mark Canton (Power, 300) and Courtney Solomon (AFTER, American Haunting, Dungeons & Dragons). Firefly will seek licensing partners in all key categories for the comic book and upcoming adult animated series.

“The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers has gathered a very unique and passionate fan base,” says Cynthia Modders, chief executive officer, Firefly Brand Management. “Gilbert Shelton’s comic book series has garnered a generation of fans and loyal readers who are going to be so excited to see the Freak Brothers come to life in this new animated program. This is a special licensing opportunity that combines the popularity of cannabis, counterculture, pop culture and nostalgia all in one hilarious and valuable brand.”

Firefly’s announcement comes on the heels of its recent announcement on the Daisy Dew Drop property. The agency signed on to lead the licensing program for the property earlier this month.
