To celebrate the 30th year of David McKee’s celebrated children’s book Elmer The Patchwork Elephant, animated studio Factory is working with Andersen Press to bring a brand new animated TV series to fans.

“Publishing David McKee’s Elmer books for the past 30 years has been one of the greatest achievements of my career,” says Klaus Flugge, chairman and publisher, Andersen Press. “As we see Elmer continue to grow in success in the U.K. and internationally, David McKee, myself and everyone at Andersen Press are excited to partner with Phil Chalk and his prize-winning team at Factory to bring Elmer to a new audience through what promises to be fantastic animated films celebrating the very things at Elmer’s core; friendship, inclusivity and celebrating your own true colors.”

Factory, the BAFTA Award-winning animation studio in the U.K. is bringing a funny, light narrative to the fun-loving elephant’s adventures to diversify the preschool market by celebrating Elmer’s core values, what makes people different.

“Elmer is one of the most iconic and widely read children’s book series of all time, and we are so excited to be teaming up with Andersen Press and David McKee in bringing Elmer to life for a brand-new generation of children,” says Phil Chalk, managing director, Factory.

In addition to the new animated series, Andersen Press is celebrating Elmer’s 30th anniversary through a series of licensed launches. Author of Elmer, McKee is also joining Metrostar at London ExCeL to sign 50 books at Brand Licensing Europe’s debut activation “Beyond the Book” on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.
