The Pokémon Company and Nintendo have announced the next generation of Pokémon video games, which will also serve as the basis for a consumer products program.
“Pokémon X” and “Pokémon Y” will launch worldwide in October exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS system.
With a new Pokémon and new storyline set in a 3D world, the two games will serve as the blueprint for an array of new animation and products including a trading card game and toy line that will debut around the world.
“We brought Pokémon into an entirely new dimension, and we’re incredibly excited to bring ‘Pokémon X’ and ‘Pokémon Y’ to fans,” says Junichi Masuda, video game director, Game Freak. “The stunning visuals, a completely redesigned environment, game scenario, music and communication features will bring smiles to the faces of video game players around the world.”
