Warner Bros. Discovery, Retailers Celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday
Macy’s, Walmart, Books a Million, HSN and Barnes & Noble feature birthday giveaways and fan merch.

Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) has announced a host of retailer promotions in honor of Harry Potter’s birthday, July 31. Every year, fans celebrate the day with Butterbeer and “Happee Birthdae Harry” cakes. This year, WBDGCP has collaborated with major retailers to host promotions, product collections and free online and in-store events and marketing to engage more consumers than ever.
Walmart will offer products such as matching Wizarding World plates and napkins, a collectible Polly Pocket compact and an 8-inch Harry Potter Doll gift set.
Barnes & Noble will host Harry Potter-themed activations with more than 300 stores offering in-store events for shoppers with free coloring pages, trivia handouts, a free Harry Potter-themed pen and more while supplies last. Special “Happee Birthdae” merchandise available for purchase includes a tote bag and a phone Popsocket.

In its flagship stores in San Francisco, Miami and Chicago, Macy’s will offer shoppers photo opportunities with life-size Funko Harry Potter figures. Macy’s social media will have a Harry Potter takeover, and Macy.com will showcase the beloved wizard’s birthday online with birthday-themed content, products like the Crest Varsity Mini Backpack and trivia.
HSN will offer a collection of Harry Potter-themed merchandise, including accessories, home décor, collectibles, food and more. The collection will highlight products from brands such as Moby Fox, Mackenzie Limited, Northwest and Spectrum Noir.
Books a Million/2nd & Charles features a selection of products, including kits from Insight Editions to make chocolate wands and golden snitches.
