As DreamWorks Animation and Universal gear up for the April 17 release of “Trolls World Tour,” a robust roster of licensees have signed on to develop a host of products. All-new toy and lifestyle collections inspired by the upcoming film are hitting retail shelves this month.
International toy partners Hasbro, The LEGO Group and Just Play will develop new collections of play items. Hasbro will launch small dolls, fashion dolls, feature dolls and more. Meanwhile, The LEGO Group will offer construction sets inspired by the film’s all-new musical worlds and genres, and Just Play will roll out huggable and interactive plush as well as role-play toys. Other toy and hardline partners include Build-A-Bear Workshop, KIDdesigns, Crayola and Disguise Costumes.
“We are excited by the response for DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Trolls World Tour,’” says Hannah Mungo, country director, U.K. and Ireland, UBD. “The feel-good versatility of the brand means that it appeals to a wide range of licensees. We’re untapping potential in new categories and continue to build and refresh the categories that we successfully established for the first movie. There is already so much going on and so much more in the pipeline; it's fair to say that the licensing program is ready to rock!”
New categories joining the program include fashion and living, food and beverage, storybooks, sound books and activity books. Licensees include ABG Accessories, Accessory Innovations, Baby Boom Consumer Products, BBC Footwear, Franco Manufacturing, Hallmark, Hybrid Promotions, Mad Engine, The Bentex Group, Centric Brands, Handcraft Manufacturing, C-Life, Delta, Random House Children’s Books, Bendon, Phidal, Phoenix International Publications, Studio Fun International, General Mills, The Kraft-Heinz Company, PEZ, Laffy Taffy, Bayer, Centric Beauty, Colgate-Palmolive, Conair Corporation and Johnson & Johnson.
