New Zealand Mint Collectibles, a metal collectibles company, has evolved into Agoro. New Zealand Mint will increase its focus on the world of collectibles, with the name Agoro combining Ag, the symbol for silver, and oro, meaning gold in Spanish and Italian. Agoro endeavors to revitalize the collectibles market with expansion beyond coins and amplifying licensing partnerships in sports and lifestyle categories.
“With a rich history and promising future via partnering with globally loved brands, we are uniquely poised to expand beyond bullion and coins,” says Vedran Babic, chief executive officer, New Zealand Mint. “Agoro allows us to capture iconic moments in pure silver and gold in ways that will spark joy for the collector.”
Agoro’s first release is a “Star Wars: A New Hope” poster coin. The business will also continue to work with brands such as Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Warner Bros. and Paramount, and has begun to expand into professional sports leagues this year with Ultimate Fighting Championship and Major League Baseball. With these licenses and more coming, Agoro is well-placed for growth in the luxury collectibles space.
