First published 178 years ago, the adventures of characters d’Artagnan, Athos, Aramis and Porthos, with supporting characters such as Cardinal Richelieu and Milady de Winter, the Alexandre Dumas novel has permeated popular culture. This breadth of storytelling has dictated the blockbuster adaptations’ break into two parts to capture the depth of the original source material.
