Hot Wheels is launching new Hot Wheels x “Fast & Furious” Virtual Collectibles, set to release May 22 on the Mattel Creations Virtual Collectibles Marketplace. Mattel’s most-exclusive feature drop to date, the Hot Wheels NFT Garage x “Fast & Furious” collection will feature six digital collectibles per pack, with 11 different cars from the “Fast & Furious” Saga to choose from.
Debuting on the heels of the May 19 U.S. release of “Fast X,” the latest installment in the “Fast & Furious” saga, the Hot Wheels x “Fast & Furious” collection will celebrate vehicles from across the history of the “Fast & Furious” franchise. Like previous Mattel virtual collectibles drops, there is a redemption possibility for a real die-cast car: an ultra-rare version of Suki’s Honda S2000 from “2 Fast 2 Furious.” The redemption window opens this September and rewards collectors who own the complete Hot Wheels x “Fast & Furious” collection.
This week’s release is just one of the recent ways Mattel is innovating in the virtual collectibles space. Series 5 of the Hot Wheels NFT Garage, which debuted in late April, sold out 30,000 packs in 30 minutes.
See Mattel at Licensing Expo, taking place on June 13-15 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas.
