‘Good Morning America’ Reveals ‘Moana 2’ Merchandise

Morning news show gives an exclusive first look at new products inspired by the upcoming Disney film.

On Nov. 4, “Good Morning America” gave an exclusive look at new merchandise inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studio’s upcoming film, “Moana 2,” ahead of its theatrical release Nov. 27. 

The morning show highlighted several items in the news segment, including new products for DisneyStore.com and an upcoming release from Posh Peanut. The products join a growing lineup of merchandise inspired by the upcoming sequel.

The new products include: 

  • The Moana 2 collection for Disneystore.com featuring youth apparel and accessories 

  • The Posh Peanut collection, featuring apparel for kids and adults, launching Nov. 14, with signature matching sets in various patterns, including a Moana-inspired twirl dress and mini backpack designs 

  • The Moana’s Adventure Canoe set from the LEGO Group, available for pre-sale later this month 

This new wave of merchandise builds on items launched since September, including dolls, playsets and collectibles from brands like Mattel, Jakks Pacific, Disguise and Funko. Publishing partners, Chronicle Books and Random House, have also released Moana-inspired titles. Jay Franco has released themed home décor; Better Sour has launched Moana 2 Passion Fruit Sour Gummy Stars and 100 Coconuts released Moana 2 Pure Coconut Water.

Further releases planned for 2024 include a mini backpack from Loungefly, a mini-plush capsule collection from Just Play, tech accessories by PopSockets, jewelry from RockLove and apparel by BoxLunch, Hot Topic, Cakeworthy and Monica + Andy. Additional collaborations are expected to roll out into 2025. 

“Moana’s journey in this new adventure is bigger, bolder and filled with new characters and surprises,” says Meagan Sanders, vice president franchise development, Disney Consumer Products. “Our latest collection of global products from world-renowned licensees not only invoke the immersive storytelling of ‘Moana 2,’ but also connect consumers of all ages to the beloved settings and characters we loved from these films.”
