Marine Artist Gets Slot Machine

International Game Technology has released a new slot machine featuring the work of marine life artist, conservationist and TV personality, Wyland.

More than 100 of Wyland’s sea life images are incorporated into the 3D animated game. The slot machines also contain several bonus jackpot features, including a "paint with Wyland" activity.

IGT plans to keep the game fresh by periodically updating the imagery from Wyland’s archive of more than 1,000 pieces.

The games, part of IGT's MegaJackpots system, are scheduled to be on casino floors nationwide by June.

Wyland first came to prominence by painting life-size whales on the sides of buildings in the ’80s. Over the years he has hosted a series of TV specials on Animal Planet and PBS to support his conservation and education efforts.

A portion of the royalties generated by the Wyland machines will be donated to the Wyland Foundation, a nonprofit founded by the artist to educate about the importance of healthy oceans and waterways.

While on the machine, players will also have the opportunity to watch a video about the foundation.
