Companies financially supporting social and political initiatives is nothing new. With great financial influence, businesses can use that leverage to advocate for what they believe in. One example of how corporate brands are now using their influence is a widespread participation in LGBTQ Pride Month, which takes place every June, through the distribution of Pride-themed licensed goods, highlighting the participating companies’ beliefs in acceptance of diversity and aiding in the continued push of this narrative.
“Pride month, like each of the cultural celebrations that happen throughout the year, gives the licensing industry an opportunity to engage with fans on the important, real life issues that impact us all,” says Eric Morse, senior vice president, content partnerships and general manager, Redbubble.
This year, multiple high-profile brands are participating in Pride to give fans the product they crave to express themselves during the festivities and making clear through this product that all consumers should be accepted for who they are.
