Last week, more than 350 students competed in the 30th Anniversary Rube Goldberg Machine Contest Live Finals at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

The STEM contest included more than 40 teams from middle schools, high schools and universities across the country and introduced the apprentice division, which brought elementary schoolers into the competition for the first time.

The annual contest celebrates the legacy of the iconic Pulitzer Prize-winning engineer and cartoonist, Rube Goldberg. This year’s challenge was to “Pour a Bowl of Cereal” and the Task Sponsor was General Mills.
