Path Entertainment Group has announced the expansion of its licensing agreement with Hasbro, after the successful launch of “Monopoly: Lifesized” in London.

The evolution of the relationship will see Path Entertainment and Hasbro create a major entertainment concept with the board game, Clue, also known as Cluedo, transforming the IP into a real-life, immersive, competitive social experience, “Clue: Lifesized.”

Dedicated to creating innovative, game-led competitive socializing experiences that allow customers to engage with their favorite IP differently, Path Entertainment maintains strong relationships with major IP holders, such as Hasbro and Lionsgate, producing live experiences, including “Monopoly: Lifesized,” which opened in November 2021, as well as “SAW: The Experience” in London and “The Paddington Bear Experience,” which is set to open in London’s County Hall.

“Monopoly: Lifesized” will be the focus of the opening keynote on Day One of Brand Licensing Europe next week, as Matt Proulx, vice president, LBE, Hasbro, and David Hutchinson, chief executive officer, The Path Entertainment Group, co-present “Passing GO: Bringing the world’s #1 board game to life.” The session will take place from 12:30-1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at London’s ExCeL.

“‘Monopoly: Lifesized’ has enjoyed two very successful years in London already, showcasing the power of the brand with the creative thinking at Path Entertainment – and has gone on to be successfully sub-licensed in the KSA, as we continue to roll out the experience internationally,” says Hutchinson. “From the start of our relationship with Hasbro, we’ve always felt Clue was a natural IP for us to explore – it’s innately theatrical and, combined with its nostalgic family-favorite mystery origins, it’s the perfect brand for our team to play with and create a new thrilling, location-based entertainment concept. We’re very excited to bring this to life in an ambitious new life-sized concept.”

“At Hasbro, our goal is to provide gaming experiences that are fun to play, fun to watch and fun to share for fans of all ages,” says Proulx. “In joining forces with Path Entertainment, we’re able to deliver on this and more with innovative and immersive versions of fan-favorite games. Fan response has been overwhelming for ‘Monopoly: Lifesized,’ so it was a no-brainer to reimagine another iconic Hasbro gaming property as a large-as-life experience with ‘Clue: Lifesized.’ Coming off the heels of this year’s refreshed Clue board game release and just in time for the brand’s 75th anniversary in 2024, fans will be able to put their investigative skills to the test as they sleuth to uncover answers to the game’s famous questions – who, where and with what?”
