An international collaboration between Paramount Pictures and the Indonesian company, PT Kios Ria Kreasi (Kios), has been announced through the signing of an agreement to build an international theme park for families in Bali, Indonesia. The 57 Ha theme park will infuse Paramount’s cinematic worlds with Indonesia’s culture and hospitality.

In the development of the Paramount Pictures branded experience, Kios will tap into Paramount Pictures' library of more than 1,000 films and use brands and characters that will appeal to people of all ages, while other attractions may draw on Nickelodeon’s characters such as “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Dora the Explorer” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

In addition to the rides, the park will have two thematic hotels: the Paramount Grand Resort and the Nickelodeon Resort, which will present themes and characters from the Nickelodeon universe.

Kios’ managing director, Ade Sulistioputra, said that this integrated theme park will become an attractive tourist destination and can educate the global community. He added that the theme park is projected to attract more than 5 million visitors in its first year.

"Paramount is a global brand that captures the imagination of everyone from children to adults,” says Sulistioputra. “We all have exciting memories of Paramount films with a legacy of excellence that has lasted 110 years,”

An area of the park called “Land of Legends” will honor some of Indonesia’s culture, myths and legends and will feature the first Indonesian-inspired ride in an international theme park.

"We believe that the beauty of Bali, combined with integrated resort hotels and a Paramount theme park will create a magnificent entertainment project that all of Indonesia can be proud of,” says Ty Granaroli, executive vice president, themed entertainment, Paramount. “A park like this can have a significant, long-term impact on tourism, including domestic and international visitors.”
