Fred Rogers Productions, producer of “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and other PBS KIDS shows, has signed a new multiyear licensing deal with Palace Entertainment to bring family-friendly shows like “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” “Alma’s Way,” “Donkey Hodie” and “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” to six Palace Entertainment parks across the U.S.
Park guests can look forward to character meet-and-greets, special events and live shows. For the first time, Daniel Tiger and friends will appear at Dutch Wonderland in Pennsylvania, Adventureland Resort in Iowa and Castle Park in California. The characters will also expand entertainment offerings at Lake Compounce in Connecticut, Idlewild & SoakZone in Pennsylvania and Story Land in New Hampshire.
Palace Entertainment chose to partner with Fred Rogers Productions due to the popularity of its PBS KIDS programming, which garners nearly a billion streams annually. The theme park operator plans to expand this partnership with more interactive experiences and updates in the future.
“Our new relationship with Palace Entertainment will bring our characters and brands to families across the country,” says Christopher Arnold, chief operating officer, Fred Rogers Productions. “The experiences we create together will foster moments of joy and connection for all families.”
Dutch Wonderland will kick off the new partnership with “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” characters during its expanded Happy Hauntings Halloween event this fall. Five characters from the show will make their first appearance for meet-and-greets, rotating every two weeks. The event wraps up Oct. 26-27, featuring meet-and-greets with Daniel Tiger, Katerina Kittycat, Miss Elaina, O the Owl and Prince Wednesday.
“We are always looking for new ways to offer our visitors unique entertainment and more reasons to visit,” says John Reilly, chief executive officer, Palace Entertainment. “Fred Rogers Productions values the same family-friendly entertainment as our organization, they are a natural fit to help us bring beloved IP characters to six of our amusement parks across the country.”
