DreamWorks Animation has partnered with Triple Five Worldwide to create an indoor theme park at the American Dream at Meadowlands retail and entertainment complex in East Rutherford, N.J.

The planned theme park will be DreamWorks’ first and will feature DreamWorks Animation characters from films like Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Puss in Boots and Madagascar.

"American Dream at Meadowlands is working with the most creative minds in the entertainment business," says Don Ghermezian, president, Triple Five Worldwide. "The theme park will have direct input from the creative talents behind the films to create a park experience that will attract a global market."

Opening in fall 2013 the American Dream at Meadowlands complex will be a five-story retail and entertainment destination, constructed in the Meadowlands Sports Complex. The complex will house a water park, ice-skating rink, indoor ski park and theatres, as well as close to 2 million square feet of retail space and restaurants.
