Selladoor has inked a musical production deal for the rights to Beano Studios’ “Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed!” animated series.

The family-friendly musical will hit U.K. and Ireland stages as part of a 40-stop tour starting in 2020. Selladoor has hired BAFTA-winning writer/producer Will Brenton to pen the show. Brenton’s credits include arena musicals based on Cbeebies properties.

“Following the success of ‘Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed!’ around the world, bringing our gang to life on stage is the perfect next step,” says Emma Scott, chief executive officer, Beano Studios. “Selladoor are the ideal team to take on the exciting challenge of bringing the iconic characters to life in a show to entertain all ages.”

Selladoor has found success in the musical circuit through its productions of “Avenue Q” and “Madagascar the Musical.” The company also co-developed a stage show based on Elmer the Patchwork Elephant late last year.
