'Chuggington' Becomes Immersive Theme Park Attraction
“Chuggington” Adventure Depot debuted at Herschend's Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, this weekend.
Herschend Entertainment Studios has expanded its "Chuggington" franchise with its first live immersive theme park attraction, "Chuggington" Adventure Depot at Silver Dollar City, the internationally awarded theme park located in Branson, Mo.
Guests can participate in the new immersive and interactive adventure with the show's favorite characters, locations and more. The "Chuggington" experience is live through the summer. Created more than 60 years ago, Silver Dollar City is the founding flagship park created by the Herschend family.
"The 'Chuggington' Adventure Depot at Silver Dollar City allows us the opportunity to leverage not only the power of the 'Chuggington' franchise, but also the scale and influence of Silver Dollar City to reach kids and families in new and exciting ways," says Keith Dawkins, president, Harlem Globetrotters and Herschend Entertainment Studios. "This strategic collaboration across our enterprise illustrates the kind of powerful opportunities that we can create for our audience, our businesses and our partners."
“For over six decades, Silver Dollar City has entertained families, including even the youngest of children," says Brad Thomas, president, general manager, Silver Dollar City Attractions. "In addition to all of our rides and attractions which small kids can enjoy this summer, our National Kids Fest will be even more fun with the addition of the unique and first-of-its-kind 'Chuggington' experience. Families can leave the ‘Chuggington’ Depot and head over to our authentic steam train to take a ride around The City.”
The "Chuggington" Adventure Depot allows young park guests to step into their own trainee Chugger, chosen from the fleet of train engines. Led by a "Conductor," the adventure guides kids through exploratory fun as a free-play, wall-to-wall re-creation of the world of "Chuggington." Preschoolers will meet and dance with their Chugger friends like Wilson, Koko and Brewster and explore "Chuggington" locales including The Roundhouse, The Ice Cream Factory and The Repair Shed from the global series. An adaptive mobility Chugger train that is ADA-compliant helps meet the needs of all young guests to participate in the immersive environment fully. Custom "Chuggington" merchandise, toys from Alpha Group and social media-worthy photo experiences round out the touring experience.
