Location-based experiences continue to grow in popularity, especially as the pandemic continues to wane. People want to get out and enjoy new experiences and LBEs allow them to do this while also connecting in new ways with brands they know and love. As License Global covered in our recent article, Growing LBE Trends, immersive art exhibits are one of these trending LBEs.
Art aficionados have been able to experience impressionist masterpieces in a whole new way with “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience" and “Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience,” both of which have been touring the U.S. and Canada.
Paquin Entertainment Group recently announced that “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” is coming to Tallahassee, Fla. for a limited engagement. The exhibit has already sold more than 3 million tickets.
The immersive experience features more than 300 of Vincent Van Gogh’s artworks and uses the artist’s dreams, thoughts and words to drive the experience as a narrative. Guests move along projection-swathed walls wrapped in light and color that swirls and dances as it refocuses into the flowers, cafes and landscapes of Van Gogh’s artworks including “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers” and “Café Terrace at Night.” Freed from its frames, Van Gogh’s art appears, disappears and flows across multiple surfaces.
“Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” is in Tallahassee Beach for a limited engagement. In Canada, the show will open at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 14.
Building on the success of “Beyond Van Gogh,” producer Paquin Entertainment Group will open “Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience” on Oct. 20 at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wis. The exhibition showcases more than 400 of Claude Monet’s impressionistic works – including the “Water Lilies” series, “Impression: Sunrise” and “Poppies.”
“Combining technology with pieces that were crafted to perfection, ‘Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience’ presented by We Energies Foundation is redefining what art means to people,” says Gilles Paquin, producer and chief executive officer, Paquin Entertainment Group. “It has elevated artwork to the next level, allowing us to form new relationships with notable masterpieces that were just not possible in previous years.”
Taking inspiration from Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris, the designated home of Monet’s masterpieces, guests can roam freely through the oval-shaped Infinity Room to absorb the artist’s bright and colorful paintings. Monet’s stunning imagery encompasses every surface of the room from floor to ceiling, giving the guests the feeling of being transported inside the paintings.
“‘Beyond Monet’ builds on the global success of ‘Beyond Van Gogh,’ and spans 50,000 square-feet with over one million cubic feet of space, making it one of the largest immersive experiences in North America,” says Justin Paquin, producer, Paquin Entertainment Group. “You truly feel like you are a part of the bright and colorful world of Claude Monet rather than a spectator.”
“We’re thrilled to partner again with Paquin Entertainment Group to bring another spectacular immersive experience to Milwaukee,” said Marty Brooks, president, chief executive officer, Wisconsin Center District. “Every guest to the Wisconsin Center can look forward to our signature bold, proud, experience-obsessed delivery of service.”
