Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has continued its partnership with Hasbro through an extension of its current Transformers license and the addition of print and electronic rights in the U.S. and Canada for the My Little Pony brand.
Under the expanded Transformers license, which will extend the partnership through 2013, Little Brown is planning a range of books to be released in May based on the animated series “Transformers: Rescue Bots.”
Featuring the characters from the animated series “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic,” which currently airs on The Hub in the U.S., Little Brown Books will extend the series’ message of friendship to several new books releasing in April 2013.
The books will include 8x8s, readers, chapter books, an original My Little Pony picture book and an official guide to the TV series, as well as other companion and novelty formats.
“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Hasbro to include the launch of a publishing program based on the phenomenal pop culture brand, My Little Pony, as we continue to publish exciting new formats for Transformers,” says Andrew Smith, vice president and deputy publisher, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. “We look forward to expanding on the great stories featured in both animated series, as well as to creating new reading experiences for the millions of lifelong devotees around the world.”
